Associate Director, Marketing - LUPUS

Biogen's Marketing teams are on the front lines every day, ensuring that our products have the right visibility for the patients who need them most. We work from a deep understanding of the science behind our therapies and the disease areas that they treat. The Associate Director of Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives to prepare for the US launch of Lupus product in both cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus (CLE and SLE). This highly visible role requires a blend of strategic insight, marketing acumen, and operational excellence to deliver impactful marketing solutions in the competitive and evolving SLE market while simultaneously establishing the CLE market.

What You'll Do

  • Develop HCP Launch Plan & Campaigns
    • Develop HCP marketing launch plans for Lupus product in both CLE and SLE, leveraging insights from market research, competitive analysis, and KME feedback.
    • Partner with leadership to develop and prepare unbranded disease state awareness campaigns and branded campaigns that educate HCPs on disease state, patient identification, and production differentiation.
    • Develop and execute HCP omni-channel plan (digital, print, conference, peer to peer, and personal promotion) to maximize reach and engagement.
    • Develop KPIs to measure effectiveness of campaigns and optimize based on performance metrics.
  • Manage Advisory Borads and Steering Committee meetings
    • Partner with Though Leader Liaison (TLLs) team and Medical to develop and execute commercial advisory board and steering committee meetings.
    • Collaborate with external agencies and vendors to deliver high-quality output on time and within budget.
    • Share key actionable insights with broader cross functional stakeholders.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment and Collaboration
    • Serve as a collaborative cross functional partner, influencing without authority and fostering strong relationships across HQ and field-based Lupus team.
    • Act as lead for agency RFPs. Provide oversight and day-to-day leadership for agency and vendor partnerships, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational excellence, and delivery of high-impact marketing initiatives.
    • Oversee cross functional brand budget.

Who You Are

  • A strategic thinker with strong marketing and scientific aptitude and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable marketing activities and tactics.
  • Highly collaborative, adaptable, and results-driven, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in vendor and project management, with a track record of delivering high-quality outputs under tight timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in life sciences preferred.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience, including 3+ years in marketing or related roles.
  • Experience in specialty markets; rheumatology and dermatology experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing HCP-focused marketing campaigns and tactics.
  • Must exhibit leadership skills and ability to perform in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements for scientific and promotional communications.
  • Previous experience managing agency partners and budgets effectively.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $164,000.00-$226,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
