Associate Director Content Operations/Content Factory

About This Role
You will join the North American Business Operations & Insights (BIO) team in Omnichannel Excellence, as a critical partner to Biogen's US marketing teams. You will be accountable for leading End-to-End Content operations in support of our US teams. We are seeking a dynamic AD of Content Operations to design, lead, and scale a US derivative content production and distribution engine - one that delivers high-quality, relevant derivative content at pace, scale, and low cost.

This role will sit at the heart of our content ecosystem, transforming how we plan, create, and deploy derivative content. You will build an agile, data-driven, and technology-enabled content operation that maximizes creative quality and business impact while minimizing inefficiency, waste, and time to market - from creation, adaptation, and validation.

As we evolve both our digital and content transformation, we also need to ensure we have foundations established including tagging, distribution, operational measurement, templates, etc. Our content marketing operations, when properly implemented, will ensure we generate content at scale to enable marketers to focus on authentic, resonant, consistent messaging that drives impact and growth. The role will deliver an intelligent, tech-enabled content ecosystem.

This position will report to the Head of Omnichannel Excellence.

What You'll Do

Strategy Vision/Implementation

  • Define and implement a clear, scalable US Content Operations strategy, and implementation plan aligned to business needs
  • Implement an AI-first content operations strategy that leverages a Decision Engine that delivers faster, smarter, and more cost-efficient derivative content - enabling personalization at scale
  • Lead content standardization efforts partnering with AORs to ensure they are widely implemented and adhered to including DAM ways of working
  • Lead strategic development of templates, content metrics, tagging/taxonomy harmonization, distribution, etc.

2. Operational Excellence

  • Design and manage an end-to-end content production workflow - from briefing and creative development through approval, localization, and delivery
  • Define operational KPIs ensuring efficiency of throughput
  • Work with Promotional Review Committee groups in implementation of workflows and End-to-End delivery

3. Leadership & Structure

  • Foster a collaborative culture with the business that balances agility and creativity with operational discipline
  • Partner closely with all cross-functional teams to ensure full alignment and integration

4. Technology & Tools

  • Explore, Implement and optimize content technologies (e.g., CMS, DAM, workflow automation, AI-assisted production tools) to drive efficiency and scalability- ensure integration, and optimization of content technologies
  • Ensure content flows seamlessly in our MarTech stack including integration with a 'Decision Engine' to inform content decisions and continuously improves performance
  • Create hybrid processes that blend human creativity with machine acceleration - optimizing for quality, consistency, and impact

  • Establish clear governance models, brand and quality standards, and content performance metrics
  • Champion new Ways of Working and drive adoption of the content solution based on ensuring 'right-time-first' implementation

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 7+ years' healthcare client or agency experience with a focus in content production, creative operations building End-to-End derivative content solutions
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Digital Asset Management (DAM) strategy, system implementation, metadata design, and governance.
    • Content Management Systems (CMS), workflow automation tools, and production technology stacks.
    • Ways of Working transformation - designing and embedding scaled operational models.
    • Content lifecycle optimization, from briefing and creation to localization, reuse, and measurement.
    • Vendor and partner management, including AI solution providers, content studios, and localization partners.
    • PRC/MLR workflows and important integrations for compliance and speed of delivery
  • Proven track record of delivering scalable content solutions that reduce costs, accelerate speed, and generate quality output
  • Strong background in data-driven content ecosystems, technology and performance optimization
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on experience with emerging content technologies
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrate ability to lead digital transformation initiatives, drive adoption and foster a culture of innovation

Education

  • BA/BS required
  • MBA preferred

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $164,000.00-$226,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
