Associate Director, Agency Management

About This Role:
As the Associate Director, Agency Management, you will be at the forefront of Biogen's Marketing Organization, overseeing agency partnerships and managing an integrated roster. You will collaborate closely with procurement and brand leaders to select, onboard, and nurture relationships with new and existing agency partners. Your role will involve monitoring budget, usage, and performance across our full portfolio, ensuring the best talent from our agency holding companies is staffed to our business. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing Operations, you will be a strategic partner in shaping the agency engagement vision and strategy. You will also drive the evolution of creativity with partners and optimize collaboration across the US organization, making a significant impact on our business.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain a vision and engagement strategy for managing agency relationships, setting clear expectations, and ensuring accountability.
  • Define a roadmap for automation across agency partners, incorporating AI to evolve our work and processes.
  • Evaluate technology and innovative models to reimagine our ways of working with agency partners and internal teams.
  • Act as a liaison between Biogen and creative/content agencies, overseeing onboarding, contract review, and re-evaluation.
  • Champion process optimization to train agency partners effectively.
  • Track, analyze, and report on agency performance metrics.
  • Maintain agency management as a centralized capability balancing creative excellence with cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team to provide outsourcing resources, guidance, and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial Marketing and/or Vendor Account Management in a regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in managing the agency selection process, staffing plans, client contracts, and new business development.
  • 3+ years' experience in managing agency KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, external suppliers/agencies, and evaluating agency cost models.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience on both Creative Agency and Client-side.
  • Commercial and/or Cross-functional experience in Pharma/Biotech.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $154,000.00-$212,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
