Make your impact within a rapidly growing fintech company
We're hiring a Senior Product & Marketing Counsel with deep experience in fintech product development and financial services regulations to support the launch of new features, products, and go-to-market campaigns. In this highly cross-functional role, you'll provide practical legal guidance to product, engineering, and marketing teams, particularly in areas involving regulated financial services and advertising compliance.
What you'll do:
- Partner with product, engineering, design, and operations teams to advise on legal implications of new product development-especially those involving regulated financial services.
- Guide teams from product ideation through launch, offering actionable compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
- Review product marketing materials, including advertisements, email campaigns, website content, and social media posts for legal compliance.
- Ensure adherence to applicable marketing, advertising, and privacy laws, including UDAP, UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, and the TCPA.
- Provide legal oversight for sweepstakes, contests, and promotional campaigns - including drafting official rules and managing regulatory filings.
- Assess marketing claims and substantiation to ensure truth-in-advertising compliance.
- Develop and maintain internal policies and processes for product and marketing legal reviews.
- Stay informed on evolving laws and trends across fintech, payments, lending, advertising, and consumer protection.
- 8+ years of legal experience in a law firm, governmental agency, and/or in-house legal department, including 2+ years focused on regulated financial services (e.g., money transmission or lending)
- Experience advising product teams throughout the full product lifecycle, ideally within fintech or highly regulated industries
- Expertise with UDAAP, UDAP, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and other relevant marketing/advertising and consumer protection laws
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree
- Admitted to, and in good standing with, a U.S. state bar
- Experience reviewing and approving customer-facing marketing materials or product terms and disclosures
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and compliance stakeholders
- Experience supporting lending, payments, or embedded finance products at a fintech company
- Familiarity with emerging payment technologies and regulatory frameworks for money services businesses
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
- Intellectual curiosity and the desire to influence product outcomes- not just assess risk
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and navigating novel legal questions in a fast-paced environment
