Project Overview:
Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. Bechtel operates through five global business units that specialize in energy, infrastructure, mining & metals, manufacturing & technology, and nuclear, security and environmental. Today, our colleague's team with customers, partners, and suppliers on diverse projects in nearly 40 countries. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. The successful candidate will serve as the Site Piling & Earthworks Superintendent on the Rio Grande LNG project. The work location is Brownsville, TX.
Job Summary:
The Site Superintendent Piling & Earthworks directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance follow specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. Provides leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team. Has overall responsibility for scope execution, ensuring that Program/Project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety and to Customer and Bechtel performance expectations.

The Site Superintendent Piling & Earthworks will be supervised by the Site Area Superintendent (Infra Scope). He/she will deputize for the Site Area Superintendent (Infra Scope) as required. #LI-SP1
Major Responsibilities:
- Day to day responsibility for supervising and directing craft operations within assigned disciplines or areas. This includes, but is not limited to, the remaining Piling & Earthworks scopes in Phase 1 (Trains 1-3) and Phase 2 (Trains 4 & 5), and any future RGLNG Infra scope (e.g., Train 6).
- Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance follow specifications and within schedules and budget. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
- Ensures a safe working environment for all craft professionals under supervision, including implementation of any corporate, GBU or project safety initiatives.
- Coordinates with various discipline Superintendents, General Foreman, and Foreman to determine equipment requirements.
- Schedules work to be performed, supervises in-process activities, and reviews work accomplished.
- Prepares equipment maintenance schedules.
- Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables.
- Supervises and directs subordinate personnel and craft in equipment support activities within various disciplines.
- Prepares craft requisitions and forecasts, job labor forecasts and expenditure forecasts.
- Develop and works plans and activities. Implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.
- Responsible for the implementation of GBU & Corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned discipline operations.
- Coordinates field activities with other disciplines.
- Ensure all State and Federal safety codes, requirements, and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in field supervision on direct hire work.
- Extensive experience in civil construction of large projects.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines, specifically with a focus on piling and earthworks.
- Demonstrated planning and scheduling, procurement, and contracting experience.
- Work authorization within the United States of America.
- Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program
- Good understanding of production management including scheduling, and weekly look ahead process.
- Good knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
- Advanced communication skills, including ability to relate to craft professionals and senior project leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
