Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations, special studies, and analysis for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design for large projects. You will lead the design and development of mechanical components and processes for projects with unique requirements. Your coordination and support will ensure that complex technical issues are resolved, clients are satisfied, and project needs are met.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership".

Major Responsibilities:

• Plans and conducts independent Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit
• Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
• Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management
• Develops conceptual designs for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
• Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting
• Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
• Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of the work
• Conducts or leads special studies of new Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering methods, materials and techniques
• Mentors Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development. Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• What are the most important knowledge and skills (includes technical skills) that are needed UPON ENTRY to do the job successfully?
• What 3 to 5 KEY factors (ex. prior experience) should be used to determine qualification for the position?
