Job Description Summary

The territory sales specialist is responsible for executing marketing strategies and tactics to meet or exceed assigned sales quota. The territory sales specialist must develop strong relationships with all customers in their area of responsibility through frequent customer visits. This position will be responsible for providing technical advice and product information to our customers while also identifying new business opportunities. In addition, this person will have responsibility for reporting on competitive activity as well as new products and technologies introduced into the marketplace.

Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM) within BD's medical segment, aligning with BD's smart connected care approach. BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world and is advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care.

This role manages a defined portfolio of Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM) customers, aiming to broaden patient reach and drive greater utilization of APM technologies across care settings.

Responsibilities
• Achieve established annual sales quota.
• Maintain and service existing accounts through regular contact with customers (doctors, nurses, etc.).
• Develop new business by prospecting new customers and/or institutions within his/her assigned territory.
• Conducts clinical training sessions at hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

• Manages distributors' activities; provides input on distributor selection and performance management.
• Provides feedback to Marketing Department regarding field issues and trends.
• Acts as communication link between BD and customers regarding product use, service, and new technology.
• Keeps abreast of changes in the medical industry and competitor's activities.
• Maintains detailed records and submits reports as required.
• Plans and organizes time effectively to achieve desired results.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in selling medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
• Self-motivated, result oriented individual who can work independently to achieve goals.
• Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrates BD values of Teamwork, Integrity, Diligence, Focus, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Service.
