Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director for Clinical Solutions & CDx, US Region Marketing, the Product Manager - Clinical Instruments will support the BD FACS family of clinical analyzers, sample preparation systems, and software solutions. This role serves both traditional clinical customers (reference laboratories, hospitals, and academic medical centers) and the cell therapy market, including Quality Control (QC) and manufacturing workflows.

The Product Manager will help drive portfolio growth by supporting marketing strategies, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives. This position focuses on execution and collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure successful commercialization of instruments and software solutions, including automation-enabled workflows.

Roles and Responsibilities

Portfolio Support Across Clinical & Cell Therapy Markets

  • Assist in developing marketing strategies for clinical instruments and software solutions serving reference laboratories, hospitals, and academic medical centers, while supporting expansion into cell therapy QC and manufacturing.
  • Gather and analyze customer insights across clinical labs, translational research, and cell therapy manufacturing organizations.
  • Support segmentation, positioning, and value proposition development tailored to clinical diagnostics and manufacturing/QC environments.

Product & Software Launch Support

  • Coordinate commercial readiness activities for instrument and software launches.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, upstream marketing, software, quality, regulatory, operations) to ensure compliant and timely execution.
  • Track launch performance and assist in reporting KPIs.

Automation & Software Enablement

  • Support marketing initiatives for software-enabled automation in clinical and cell therapy workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop messaging and go-to-market strategies for automation solutions.

Commercial Execution & Field Enablement

  • Contribute to regional marketing plans aligned with portfolio growth objectives.
  • Develop sales tools, digital content, and event strategies tailored to clinical and cell therapy audiences.
  • Assist with training and field enablement activities to ensure clear articulation of workflow differences.
  • Participate in customer-facing activities, including conferences and reference site development.

Insights, Forecasting & Lifecycle Management

  • Support Voice of Customer and market research initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive technologies, automation trends, and regulatory considerations.
  • Assist with demand planning and forecasting activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is suited for a collaborative, execution-focused marketer who thrives in a dynamic, matrixed environment and is eager to learn and grow.

  • Exposure to product marketing fundamentals, including positioning and launch activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or business/marketing required; MBA a plus
  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, product management, or related roles within life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, or biopharma highly preferred
  • Experience supporting cell therapy, bioprocessing, QC, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Familiarity with automation, robotics, software, or digital solutions in laboratory or manufacturing settings is a plus
  • Flow cytometry or clinical laboratory experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required
