Job Summary
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and market share expansion within a designated territory for Becton Dickinson India Private Limited. You will lead and motivate a sales team, develop strategic sales plans, and build strong customer relationships to achieve revenue targets and promote BD's innovative healthcare solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and objectives for the designated area.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure their success and professional development.
Identify and cultivate strong relationships with key customers, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare institutions, to understand their needs and position BD products and solutions effectively.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with marketing, product management, and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective product launches, promotional activities, and customer support.
Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, reports, and business reviews to senior management.
Manage sales budgets, expenses, and resources effectively to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular field visits with team members to coach, support, and evaluate their performance.

Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking events to promote BD's brand and expand market reach.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 3-5 years in a sales management role within the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare industry.
Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
In-depth knowledge of the Indian healthcare market, including key customers, competitors, and regulatory landscape.
Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Results-oriented with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and ethical business practices.
