Job Summary

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing client relationships within the life science sector for Becton Dickinson's Specimen Management portfolio. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, promoting innovative solutions, and achieving sales targets while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Description

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets for the Specimen Management product line within assigned accounts and territories.
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within life science research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and diagnostic laboratories.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions to showcase the value and benefits of BD's Specimen Management solutions.
Understand customer workflows, challenges, and requirements to propose appropriate product solutions and services.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of sale to secure profitable business.
Collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing, technical support, and customer service to ensure seamless customer experience and resolution of issues.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and inform sales strategies.
Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market feedback to management.
Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and events to network and promote BD's offerings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related scientific field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of successful sales experience in the life science or medical device industry, specifically with laboratory products or specimen management solutions.
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, specimen collection, processing, and storage within research or clinical settings.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders (researchers, lab managers, procurement).
Demonstrated ability to build rapport, influence decisions, and negotiate effectively.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
