Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design, development, and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include Linux Red Hat technical support, systems programming, and platform capabilities.
  • Handle complex Linux engineering and analytical tasks and activities.
  • Assist in day-to-day installation, governance/compliance remediation, maintenance, unplanned outages, and issue resolution work.
  • Handle ad-hoc analytical tasks and activities.
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Design, develop, and modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
  • Execute story refinement, define requirements, and estimate work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Automate manual release activities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
  • Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Applied Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Engineering (any), or related: and
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
  • Must include 3 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Designing and developing production ready software using web, cloud and distributed technologies including Spring Boot, Microservices, and CI/CD cloud deployment;
  • Designing and developing new proof of concept projects to enhance current software systems to handle increased traffic and larger datasets with SQL, SFTP, Network Data Mover(NDM), and Containers;
  • Enhancing and maintaining high traffic intranet web apps using Java and cutting edge Devops technologies including Jenkins and Ansible;
  • Using Java/J2EE technologies to develop scalable enterprise grade applications, libraries, frameworks and performing service integration through APIs and webservices using Spring MVC, Rest/SOAP Webservices; and,
  • Designing and developing solution architectures to scale backend systems using Java, Oracle, Spring Boot and Rest specifications.
