Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Developer to join as a FICC Rates eTrading Senior Developer within our FICC Macro Rates Electronic Trading Technology team to contribute to the evolution of strategic FICC Rates eTrading platform for Global Rates eTrading business. The FICC Macro Rates Electronic Trading line of business has a serious commitment to expand its global electronic trading platform through the development of the evolving trading stacks catering to the global Rates eTrading needs. Key workflows also include low-latency dealer to client trading platform, client quoting, algorithmic hedging and execution, market data and market access solutions.
The eTrading front office technology team develops and supports the front-office applications responsible for electronically pricing, negotiating, market making, and hedging.
This role will be crucial in helping establish a world-class technology function focused on delivering results to support the Global Electronic Trading Rates businesses. You will be developing, supporting and owning the critical eTrading components within the in-house electronic trading stack, the applications for which are used primarily by various desks globally. The role will require close partnership with the tech lead/architect, functionally leading the efforts, mentoring the junior developers, having close interaction with the traders, understanding their requirements, and developing and/or enhancing existing solutions to meet their need.
Main Responsibilities
- Build high-performance, low latency components for fixed income eTrading workflows.
- Write high-quality production grade Java across latency sensitive, multi-threaded environment maintaining direct accountability for code quality and performance.
- Integrate tightly with internal algo engines, quant libraries and pricing services through well-defined interfaces, working collaboratively with quant and algo teams.
- Champion best development practices including pairing, code reviews, unit testing and regression testing.
- Profile, benchmark and continuously improve application performance, identifying and eliminating latency bottlenecks in the critical path.
- Work with technology partners and business groups in the region and globally to deliver high quality products in a fast-paced environment.
- Work with the management and horizontal teams to advance the strategic roadmap.
- Liaise with end-users to understand their requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Science / Engineering Degree
- Java - Hands on development and technical leadership experience in complex application development with a background in multi-threaded implementation and low-latency messaging
- Experience with Multi-threading, low latency, high performance components & applications (including GC tuning)
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to coordinate different tasks and work with different stakeholder groups and demonstrate proactive-ness and high motivation.
- Ability to organize multiple competing tasks and priorities with a rapidly changing environment.
- Experience with versioning tools such as GIT, transport layer technology such as TCP/web socket, Refinitiv, Tibco Rendezvous
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills on Linux/Windows using profiling tools.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in Fixed Income eTrading technology domain specializing in the D2C & D2D trading platforms.
- Familiarity with MiFID II front office context - understanding trading controls and obligations within eTrading domain
- Agile development practices with a focus on writing thorough and testable code.
- Experience with message-oriented middleware such as 29 West/Solace/AMPS/RV
