Job Description
We are seeking an HR Consultant to provide on-site HR support across the Belfast site and the Global Operations line of business. Belfast is a growing operational hub, and this role will play a key part in shaping the people agenda as the site scales.
The Operations client group comprises approximately 2,000 employees across the UK and EMEA, predominantly within Operations. The role reports to the Senior HR Business Partner for EMEA Operations and works closely with the broader Operations HR generalist team, as well as specialist HR functions, to deliver high-quality HR support.
The HR model is structured around aligned business partners and specialist functions, within a matrixed global environment. As such, strong collaboration, judgement and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
You will act as a trusted HR adviser to the business, providing pragmatic counsel and support to enable effective people decision-making and delivery of the business plan. The role requires a strong on-site presence in Belfast and close partnership with regional and global HR colleagues, to ensure the seamless delivery of global initiatives and core processes:
- Performance & Reward: drive performance management, year-end processes, compensation, and promotion activity. Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and appropriate risk management.
- Staffing & Talent Acquisition: partner with our Talent Acquisition partners and the business to deliver lateral hiring plans. Support candidate assessments, offer approvals and onboarding activity.
- Leadership Development: partner with L&D to support organisational effectiveness and leadership capability. Contribute to organisational design activity.
- Learning: partner with Learning to identify skills gaps and implement solutions across both technical and behavioural capability. Facilitate HR-led learning or education sessions where required.
- Employee Relations: partner with Employee Relations to proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring outcomes protect the firm's franchise.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: analyse employee engagement survey results and partner with leaders on tracking action plans. Play an active role in shaping a positive, high-performance culture within Belfast.
- HR data: partner with HR data and reporting team to deliver workforce insights including headcount, attrition, mobility.
- Projects: Support with the delivery of cross-Line of Business HR initiatives with focus on growth and site maturity.
Required
- Prior HR experience supporting a Financial Services business
- Solid knowledge across the core HR disciplines (performance, talent acquisition, ER, learning, reward).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, operational environment; Operations experience is advantageous.
- Strong judgement, resilience and ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams in a matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical capability, including interpreting data and identifying trends.
- Proactive, commercial and business-focused mindset, with the confidence to challenge where appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable, flexible and comfortable supporting change in an evolving organisation.
