The Global Markets Group is a market leader in providing world-class service to a wide range of clients. This team operates at the center of the world's debt and equity markets. They provide sales and trading services, liquidity, hedging strategies and industry-leading insights, analytics and competitive pricing to more than 9,000 institutional clients across six continents.

The Global Equities group includes Institutional Derivatives Sales, Derivative and Convertible Trading, Institutional Equity Sales, Equity Trading, Electronic Trading Services, Prime Financing and Prime Risk. Global Equities provides marketing, structuring and trading of listed and customized equity products for its clients.

Job Description

  • Work with the Equity Sales & Trading teams based out of multiple regions - NYC, London and HK
  • Review and provide oversight on market commentary, analytics, and trading tasks for Equities and Equity-Linked products, including Options (Vanilla & Structured), Swaps, Financing, Delta One, Cash Equities
  • Drive strategic oversight and optimization of APAC Prime Financing workflows and the Equities coverage universe to ensure operational excellence and scalability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure rigorous adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards, mitigating operational and compliance risks while maintaining best-in-class governance
  • Champion talent development through structured coaching, mentorship, and succession planning, fostering a high-performance culture and future-ready leadership pipeline

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational delivery of the GBS APAC Prime Financing team in terms of task execution, resiliency planning and partnering with the desk on understanding and driving key initiatives within GBS
  • Supervise delivery of the entire book of work and proactively liaise with stakeholders to resolve escalations
  • Proactively preempt and identify issues in trading tasks and highlight to / troubleshoot with the business on time to avoid any potential PnL impact associated with any errors / delays in delivery
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for data and analytical support delivered to stakeholders across global locations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and actionable insights
  • Review and validate Corporate Action summaries across multiple dimensions (position, client, fund, regional, event) to ensure accuracy and completeness, and provide insights on client election trends for voluntary events
  • Oversee preparation and approve liability notices for clients with short positions in corporate action events
  • Monitor and supervise trade flow and Give-Up bookings, Pay-To-Hold bookings etc. on internal systems, ensuring timely resolution of exceptions and adherence to operational controls
  • Review and analyze Sales/Trading desk profitability metrics and client PnL reports, providing strategic commentary and identifying opportunities for revenue optimization
  • Provide oversight on book, client, index, and event-level analytics to provide business insight that can help the business suggest portfolio rebalancing solutions
  • Strengthen partnerships with Sales & Trading teams to develop advanced analytics and deliver key initiatives in global trading analytics
  • Demonstrate leadership by driving innovative solutions aligned with global, regional, and local priorities, ensuring strategic impact across multiple business areas
  • Lead storyboarding and production of high-quality communication materials for senior stakeholders and regional teams, supporting executive updates and strategic initiatives
  • Design and review key strategy documents and sales notes for stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and actionable insights
  • Identify and drive operational efficiency (Opex) opportunities, while developing, standardizing, and continuously improving processes and routines to enhance scalability and control
  • Drive standardization of data frameworks and reporting routines to enable scalability and uniformity
  • Liaise and interact with the business to refactor similar processes in a uniform and robust way
  • Understand complex business challenges and financial products, and drive technical and quantitative solutions to optimize trading and risk management
  • Work on complex data problems, handle large amounts of data and deliver a suite of analysis tools optimized for the data framework
  • Back-test Equity and Equity-linked trading strategies, applying statistical analysis to generate actionable insights for the business
  • Work on management priorities and strategic initiatives, including supporting hiring initiatives through resource planning and skill-gap analysis; driving migration projects for systems/processes to enhance operational efficiency; preparing senior leadership material (presentations, dashboards, and reports) for business reviews and regulatory updates; contributing to cross-functional projects aligned with organizational growth and compliance objectives etc.

Requirements

  • Education: Advanced /MS degree in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Econometrics, Quant Finance or similar
  • Educational institutes: Postgraduates from a top Tier University with Mathematics / Economics or Finance related major degree
  • Experience: At least 9-12 years of relevant experience in markets, investment banking, valuation etc.
  • Technical Expertise: Superior data analytics skills with strong quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to handle complex datasets and deliver actionable insights
  • Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop Associates and Analysts; consistently deliver inclusive and positive leadership across levels
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with C-Level executives and senior stakeholders
  • Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize, and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
  • Operational Excellence: Skilled in identifying Opex opportunities, driving process standardization, and ensuring continuous improvement
  • Cultural & Organizational Impact: Strong advocate of the bank's value framework; trusted team player with positive contributions across the breadth of the firm, evidenced by networking and collaboration beyond immediate work groups
