Job Description

As part of GBS Technology Team, the automation testing role is critical in ensuring quality across banking, global markets, enterprise risk and finance business groups. This team is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes. The job establishes testing scope and coordinates test execution. Key responsibilities of the job include overseeing testing practices ensuring that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, conditioning and generating test data, building and executing both manual and automated test suites, recording and communicating the test results, triage defects, and ensuring regression test suites are maintained and well designed.

Functional & Technical Quality analyst acts as a specialist in discovering the unexpected & bring confidence in software solutions. These include award winning web and mobile applications, high-performing applications, complex event processing, cloud solutions, low latency applications, and responsive experiences.

Skills exposure/Opportunity to work in areas such as: Manual & Automation Testing, Selenium, Tosca, Mobile testing, RAFT, Voice testing, Cucumber

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute E2E Test strategies for applications
  • Ability to work in Agile environments and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Understanding the business functionalities to cater the Functional/Non-functional testing
  • Develop test conditions and build test scripts based on functional design specifications and the test approach
  • Perform unit testing and component integration testing
  • Design & Develop Technical Test Approach, Load Tests, Fail-over & Recoverability Tests and Operational Tests
  • Document and execute Test Scripts & report the execution progress
  • Identify & escalate stoppers / concerns /issues to the project management team early.
  • Ability to work as a team player in an agile way of working.
  • Serve as a quality gatekeeper for the application releases.

Requirements:

Educational Qualifications: Eligible Final year students from the Class of 2026 ONLY

  • Degree Type: Bachelor's Degree
  • Major Specialization: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar degree of relevance
  • CGPA: 80% in the last semester OR CGPA of 8 on a scale of 10 in the last semester with no pending backlog subjects at the time of applying with us

Work Experience: N/A

Foundational skills:

  • Good understanding on SDLC and STLC
  • Can adopt to software testing & automation roles in agile and iterative cycles
  • Have good data structures knowledge - with some RDBMS programming skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Passion for Quality Delivery

Desired Skills (Good to have):

  • Test Engineering, DevOps and Release Automation, Application & Architecture

Familiarity with UNIX programming and shell scripting
