VP of Growth Channels
Job Description
As VP of Growth at Balsam, you will be responsible for overseeing a team charged with developing new business channels and launching innovative concepts. This will include oversight of Indirect Sales (wholesale & marketplace), business-to-business (B2B) and Horizon Labs (innovation). You will lead the team in the iteration and testing of new models, flexing a combination of internal and external resources. While specific channel experience is valuable, we are seeking a business generalist with a breadth of experience, entrepreneurial instincts, and the ability to launch, test, and scale across multiple domains. As the channels mature, you will be central to determining the strategy and timing of their potential integration into the core business.
We are seeking a leader not just comfortable with but motivated by the unknown. You will inspire others by your passion for developing new capabilities for Balsam and will champion the opportunity to learn by doing. Importantly, you will bring experience not only in developing new business opportunities, but in doing so with a structured and methodical approach. You will build a vision for the opportunities of each channel, as well as detailed forecasts and milestones for growth. In doing so, you will be both entrepreneurial and strategic. You will cast the net wide and prioritize ruthlessly.
You will work with all cross functional teams across the company, partnering most closely with Creative, Ecommerce, Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations. You will foster a culture of candor, ownership, trust, and collaboration in and outside of your team.
You will report to the Chief Growth Officer and lead a team that thrives in ambiguity while scaling new business opportunities into sustainable revenue streams. You will be expected to work in a hybrid model, which currently includes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in-office.
What you’ll do:
Lead Balsam’s non-core growth channels: Indirect (wholesale + marketplace), B2B, and Horizon Labs
Incubate, test, and scale new business opportunities, with a focus on services as a future growth driver
Build business cases, financial models, and resource forecasts for new initiatives; establish clear milestones and success metrics
Develop and mentor a team of senior leaders and managers across multiple channels. Provide guidance, thought partnership, and feedback regularly
Leads the team to achieve business outcomes by promoting collaboration and alignment with organizational values; translates company initiatives into a clear vision, aligning team actions with company priorities while fostering performance and professional development
