Autodesk is transforming how the world is designed and made. We're looking for a Senior Principal Experience Designer to join the Forma Design team, shaping the future of early-stage planning and design in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.

This role is for a designer who thinks beyond individual features or products and instead thrives at the intersection of product vision, complex systems, and user-centered design.

As a principal-level designer, you will define and influence long-term product and experience direction, working across teams and functions to deliver cohesive and scalable user experiences. This is a high impact role, you will act as a thought leader in experience design, elevating quality, consistency, and innovation across the organization.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders, and be part of a close-knit design community of 20 designers who actively collaborate, share feedback, and support each other in raising the bar for design quality.

Required

• 10+ years of experience in UX, product design, or industrial design with demonstrated impact leading complex, workflow-heavy product areas

• You thrive in ambiguity and bring clarity through structured thinking. You can define a vision for the future of product creation, and then help make it real

• You are a systems thinker and design leader who moves fluidly between concept and execution

• Ability to work autonomously and drive alignment in fast-paced, collaborative environments

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical systems into clear, intuitive user experiences

• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders

• Experience working with or contributing to design systems

• AI fluency in your own work: you've used AI to unlock capabilities you didn't have before and can show a clear before/after in how you operate as a designer

• Demonstrated strong visual design skills

• Interest or background in AEC, construction technology, early-stage design workflows, or related domains
