Position Overview
Join our platform strategy team at Autodesk where you will impact developing a platform strategy while supporting execution through prioritizing and developing strategy for initiatives, identifying and evaluating M&A targets and supporting cross-functional strategy for technology partnerships. You will report to the Vice President, Platform Strategy and Technology Partnerships.
You will be leading and influencing platform strategy initiatives across multiple teams within the platform organization and/or across Autodesk. You will inform business direction for our global platform transformation by recommending sound business strategies that have an impact on platform efforts across all industry verticals. Candidates will need to be open to travel to San Francisco office or other mostly US locations quarterly or up to monthly.
Responsibilities
Our Platform Strategy team has the following primary areas of focus:
- Platform Strategy - Create a strategy for the 3-5-year horizon for Autodesk horizontal technologies within Autodesk Platform Services (APS) such as Data, AI/ML, Insights, Developer, Trust, Visualization, and other cross Industry vertical capabilities. Support the strategic evolution of Autodesk products into workflow-centric cloud-based experiences. Incorporate technology and architectural trends into the 3-5-year strategy by aligning with technology and research leaders
- Presentations on Platform Strategy - Customer, Partner, internal-facing presentations and discussions on platform strategy topics
- Pricing - Inform pricing decisions for platform APIs and other cross-industry platform offerings, by doing market/customer research and data analysis, as well as collaborating with product teams and Finance
- Developer Ecosystem Monetization - Build a long-term strategy for Autodesk's developer ecosystem monetization, to accelerate growth and adoption of our product offerings and create an additional revenue stream for Autodesk. Leverage this to offer specific, high value functionality for our customers above and beyond our standard offerings
- M&A - Identify and evaluate M&A opportunities to increase the value of the platform and explore new business models related to new offerings
- Supporting hypothesis generation process on complex initiatives, developing high quality (MECE and relevant) hypothesis tree
- Develop and update workplan
- Develop analytical approaches to prove out hypotheses - including interviews, surveys, data analysis
- Develop realistic, value adding and implementable recommendations, merging strategic, organizational, technological and cultural requirements
- Successfully lead and influence in a matrixed environment, including with senior stakeholders
- Structure presentations of VP level quality, focusing on creating impact
- Build trusted working relationships at the Sr. Director/VP level across the organization
- Work with research/analytical teams across to influence relevant analysis and insights are generated, to inform platform strategy initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience
- 2+ years strategy consulting experience. Ideally Manager level at leading strategy consulting firms with high skills training rigor
- Strategy work in tech industry, ideally software/SaaS
- Relevant technology fluency
- Engineering degree or demonstrated interest or experience in computer/information technology spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Storytelling - writing compelling narratives/slide decks for meetings and presentations
- Pricing experience
- M&A due diligence experience
- MBA or similar Master's degree

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $136,000 and $244,420. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
