Principal Product Manager, AI Strategy - Fusion Platform Organization
Overview
Autodesk is seeking a Principal Product Manager to join the Fusion Platform Organization, where we build the foundational platform and application frameworks that power Autodesk's product ecosystem. This role focuses on shaping and coordinating the AI strategy across the Fusion platform, ensuring feature development is aligned with platform maturity, foundational investments, and customer trust.
Sitting at the intersection of platform strategy and execution, this role enables Fusion and PDMS product teams to incorporate AI capabilities in a scalable, responsible, and cohesive way. You will work closely with platform engineering, architecture, research, and downstream product teams to guide multi-year AI direction while supporting near- and mid-term delivery.
This role requires strong cross-functional leadership, comfort operating across organizational boundaries, and a pragmatic mindset focused on enabling delivery at scale while managing the disruptive impact of AI.
Responsibilities
Platform & AI Strategy
- Drive and own a multi-year AI strategy and roadmap for the PDMS Platform organization.
- Coordinate AI-related feature development with platform readiness, foundational investments, and architectural direction.
- Ensure AI initiatives align with PDMS goals of enabling Fusion's growth, strengthening technology foundations, and maintaining customer trust.
- Clearly articulate the intended role, scope, and boundaries of AI capabilities within the PDMS platform.
Delivery Enablement & Coordination
- Partner closely with platform engineering and architecture to ensure AI capabilities are delivered on reliable, scalable foundations.
- Work with Fusion and other downstream product teams to understand real-world use cases, constraints, and integration needs for AI-driven features.
- Drive alignment across teams to reduce fragmentation and ensure consistent delivery of AI-enabled platform capabilities.
- Lead sequencing and dependency management across multiple teams to enable coordinated delivery.
Cross-Functional & Organizational Collaboration
- Collaborate with Autodesk Research, Data Platform, Cloud Ops, Security, Privacy/Legal, and downstream product teams.
- Lead cross-organization alignment on priorities, tradeoffs, and sequencing related to AI investments.
- Communicate strategy, progress, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Act as a trusted partner to leaders by framing AI and platform topics in business and customer terms.
Customer & Ecosystem Perspective
- Incorporate customer insights, usage patterns, and market trends to inform AI roadmap decisions.
- Balance innovation with responsible AI considerations, including reliability, predictability, and trust.
- Apply industry context (e.g., design, engineering, manufacturing workflows) where it strengthens platform decisions.
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex, cross-team or platform initiatives.
- Proven ability to define and execute multi-year product strategies while delivering incremental value.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and applications, with the ability to partner effectively with engineering and research teams.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills, including influencing at senior levels without authority.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with and presenting to executive audiences.
