Event Project Manager
Job Requisition ID #
26WD98665
Position Overview
The Technology Excellence Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, and operational execution of Autodesk's internal technical programs and events, including TechX and the Technical Leadership Forum. This role is focused on keeping the Technology Excellence team organized, aligned, and on track across multiple initiatives and timelines.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at building strong working relationships across diverse teams and personalities. This person should be an effective communicator who can adapt their communication style to different audiences, foster collaboration, and help create a positive, harmonious working environment. Success in this role requires someone who can keep teams aligned, maintain momentum, and bring people together while navigating shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This is not an event production role or a role responsible for directing technical teams on how to build solutions. Instead, this person will help drive clarity, accountability, and communication, across a small internal team.
Experience with project tracking and organizational tools such as Airtable is helpful, but not required. Flexibility to travel occasionally for on-site support during events is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage project plans, timelines, deliverables, and tracking systems to support Technology Excellence programs and events
- Help keep the Technology Excellence team organized by tracking priorities, action items, deadlines, and dependencies across initiatives
- Coordinate across stakeholders to ensure updates, deliverables, and decisions are progressing on schedule
- Facilitate team communication, status tracking, and follow-ups to maintain alignment and visibility
- Build strong collaborative relationships across stakeholders, helping foster alignment, trust, and effective teamwork
- Adapt communication approaches to different personalities, working styles, and levels within the organization
- Help create a positive and organized team environment that encourages collaboration and smooth execution across initiatives
- Identify risks, blockers, or gaps and proactively escalate or help coordinate resolution
- Support planning and operational readiness for internal technical conferences and leadership forums
- Assist with meeting coordination, documentation, and maintaining centralized project information
- Help improve team processes, tracking methods, and organizational workflows over time
- Provide operational and logistical support during conferences and team events as needed
- Support post-event retrospectives and help document learnings and improvement opportunities for future cycles
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in project coordination, program management, operations, or related roles
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and work effectively across diverse personalities and teams
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate differing communication and working styles professionally and collaboratively
- Ability to proactively manage details, accept feedback, follow through on action items, and keep teams aligned
- Comfortable working in fast-moving ambiguous environments with shifting priorities
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in dynamic environments
- Experience with project management or collaboration tools such as Airtable, Asana, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar platforms is a plus
- Experience supporting internal programs, technical organizations, or corporate events is helpful but not required
