Introduction to the Job
As an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer, you help bring ASML's most advanced lithography systems to life at customer sites across the United States. Your work directly supports the production of faster, smaller, and more energy‑efficient microchips that power everyday technologies.

This Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer position sits within ASML's Customer Service organization. The team partners with leading chip manufacturers to ensure systems are installed, qualified, and optimized for long‑term performance. You play a hands‑on role in delivering value while continuing to grow your technical expertise.

Role and Responsibilities

As an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer, you work on-site with customers to ensure advanced equipment is installed, upgraded, and relocated safely and accurately. You balance technical execution with collaboration, problem solving, and customer communication.

You will:

  • Install, upgrade, and relocate complex equipment, including inspection, alignment, and functional testing
  • Diagnose technical issues, complete repairs, and verify system performance against specifications
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to isolate problems and deliver effective solutions
  • Escalate technical challenges promptly to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Maintain and optimize equipment to improve reliability and prevent recurring issues
  • Train customers on system operation and routine maintenance procedures
  • Document work accurately through service reports and technical summaries

Education and Experience

To succeed as an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer, you bring a strong technical foundation and an eagerness to learn.

You have:
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent practical experience
  • Zero to two years of professional experience in a technical, manufacturing, or service environment
  • Exposure to the semiconductor industry, vacuum systems, or plasma technology is helpful
  • Experience using standard computer applications for documentation, analysis, and reporting

Other Information
  • Position will require travel up to 70%.
  • Position will require access to customer site locations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • This position is a safety-sensitive position requiring the ability to operate heavy/complex machinery and work in a safe and alert manner.
  • Willingness to continue learning and growing in a professional environment is necessary.
  • Work is conducted at a customer site and requires familiarization with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety.
  • Expect to spend more than 50% of the time inside the clean room working with electromechanical equipment.
  • Position works under the direction of a Manager, Supervisor, or Sr. Engineer.
