Introduction to the role
The Production Engineer 2is responsible fordeveloping,optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processesto support both New Product Introductions (NPI) and volume production. This rolerequires hands-on experiencein a high-tech manufacturing environment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead small-scale projects independently. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership to ensure operational excellence.
Role and responsibilities
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Develop andoptimizeprocesses for NPIand volume manufacturing.
- Implement SPCfor new products andmonitorprocess stability.
- Drive structural improvementsfor recurring manufacturing issues and chronic quality challenges.
Manufacturing ProcessDevelopment
- Developandmaintainmanufacturing procedures, technical work instructions, and process specifications.
- Createand update process documentation, routings, and sequences for factory execution.
- Role modelcompliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Support introduction of new products into production within a concurrent engineering environment.
- Participatein design reviews, PFMEAs, and documentation reviews to ensure manufacturability.
- Evaluateandoptimizetooling for NPI and volume manufacturing
Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical supportassistingFirst Line Support (FLS)for production issues, including troubleshootingmodulesand drivingto root cause resolution
- Evaluate and disposition partswith quality issues,validatesupplier failure analysis reports, and implement corrective actions.
- Providetechnicaldetails andrecommendationsduring root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and escalations.
- Participate in DRB/MRB to drive structural solutions
- Drivesmall-scale Lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
Planning & Control
- Maintain MRP controls for module production and support production planning activities.
- Perform cycle time analysis, capacity planning, and present findings to stakeholders.

Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams tofurther industrialization
- Collaboratewith internal teams and external customersregardingassembly and testing of components and final products.
- Provide clear andtimelyreporting on improvement actions, cycle time analysis, and project progress.\
- Document results, write procedures, and support qualification plans.
- Provide guidance, feedback, anddemonstratelistening skills.
Education & experience
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- Experience:2-4years in production engineering or process development.
- Solid understanding of SPC, PFMEA, and lean principles.
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver improvements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC).
- Proficiencyin CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
- Strong knowledgeof manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, automation, material handling).
- Strongunderstanding of SPC, PFMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for routing and documentation updates.
- Competence in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar statistical software).
- Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Role modelof safety standards, compliance, and risk mitigation in manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with process validation and equipment qualification.

- 15% of time spent documenting results and writing procedures.
- 25% of time spent collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering on process recommendations and qualification plans.
- 35% of time spent in meetings with Design Engineering for product design andqualification.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
