Internship- Electrical /Electronic Hardware Design Engineer for the PE Electrical Test Group

Job Mission

ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips. This position is for an Electrical Test & Support Group Production Engineer Intern with innovative attitude to work in the Production Engineering Test department within the Wilton Factory. The intern will work with Production and Development engineers to develop and implement comprehensive production test equipment that incorporates a high level of performance verification and troubleshooting diagnostics. Ultimately improving the work flow and reducing cycle time in the Manufacturing work centers.

Job Description

  • Work with Test Engineers to develop design solutions that will address comprehensive production testing issues. Ultimately reducing Cycle time and improving Work Center output.
  • Engage with Production engineering at the start of a new project to help ensure the tester designs accommodate all aspects of MFG engineering.
  • Contribute to the Electrical design, implementation, test and documentation of the tester.
  • Provide prompt support to troubleshooting multi-discipline test equipment, including electrical, electro-mechanical and subassembly modules.
  • Ability to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and from on-the-job training. Able to read mechanical, electrical and optical schematics.
  • Support analysis on test data and derive conclusions.
  • Develop Fishbones and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Support root cause analysis of failed hardware.
  • Spends about 75% of time in the Work Center Cleanroom providing direct support to production test engineering and troubleshooting.
  • Support development of Manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions.
  • Support and participate with design and document reviews for production with diagnostics.
  • SW knowledge with: MATLAB, C/C++, Python, MS Visual Studio, LabView and C# is a plus to understand the Tester application.
  • The employee is required to work in a cleanroom environment:
    • full gowning (full body coveralls, hood, CR safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves and safety glasses. Working under ISO 9000/14000 standards).
    • Working around overhead cranes, fork trucks and motorized pallet movers.
    • Working around electrical test equipment, lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.

Education

  • Candidate for Bachelor in Electrical/Electronic or Electro-mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering theory, circuit design and simulation.
  • Knowledgeable in the use Electrical test equipment, (DVM's, Oscilloscopes function generator and Signal Analyzers).
  • Knowledgeable with measurement sensors: flow, temperature and distance/positioning.
  • Knowledgeable with integrated Hardware/Software testers or systems.
  • Knowledge/understanding of complicated multi-disciplinary (Electro-Mechanical) assemblies.
  • Knowledge/understanding of servo and mechatronic control systems is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, MS Visual Studio, LabView and C# is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of NX, Teamcenter and SAP is a plus.

  • Candidate must be organized, disciplined and assertive to work in a development and manufacturing environment of a large company.
  • Candidate must have strong communicative skills and proven record of working with production engineers and test technicians.
  • Capability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership), and be willing to take on responsibility and follow through.
  • Possess strong ownership characteristics - demonstrated commitment to achieving results on time.
  • Have strong written and oral communicative skills - ability to communicate effectively to your team and to senior management.
