Introduction to the job

The Head of Cymer Light Source (CLS) Central Quality will lead a key Business Line function at ASML's San Diego site and ensure that the quality requirements needed essential for business success are clearly defined and fully supported.

In this role, you will need to establish short (annual) and long term (5+ years) requirements for the business and embedded with the supporting sectors: Development & Engineering, Installed Based & O, Global Manufacturing, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, and Planning & Delivery.

This leadership role will own the overall quality strategy for CLS, providing solutions topics to meet CLS business and quality performance, the voice of the customer, corporate quality objectives and goals. You will create and manage CLS's Quality Roadmap and initiatives and ensure that CLS Quality targets are met.

Role and responsibilities

Program management:

  • Owns the development and implementation of the CLS Quality Roadmap.Manages Quality across the organization.
  • Drives cross sector development of Quality solutions to systemic challenges across D&E, IBO, GMF, SS&P and P&D.
  • Projects involve innovative and heterogeneous topics, that have short, mid- and long term and strategic impact.
  • Requires deep understanding of CLS/ASML business and interdependencies.

Leadership:
  • Lead a small central Quality (~6-7 FTE) team, facilitates the Executive Quality Table team (CLS Executive Staff) and Leads the Operations Quality Table (CLS Heads of Sector Quality Functions).

Cross-sector collaboration:
  • Act as a connector between leadership and quality teams across the company. Use teamwork to shape and guide quality efforts.

Transformational impact:
  • Build a strong culture of quality by encouraging employees to take ownership and speak openly about quality issues.

Customer expectation:
  • Manages the customer expectations and Voice of the Customer (VoC) with respect to Quality at CLS level, guiding senior leadership in aligning quality initiatives with customer needs.
  • Drive initiatives that establish the organization as a trusted partner, shaping mid- and long-term customer relationships through exceptional quality experiences.
Process Improvement:
  • Sets the direction for process transformation, integrating quality improvement as a core organizational principle.
  • Redefines standards and position the organization as a leader in quality excellence.

Education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in leading Quality (or related) improvement- & transformation projects in complex organizations
  • Recognized as expert on quality, continuous improvement and Six Sigma/LEAN concepts
  • Experienced in change management
  • Able to position Quality as a key business performance driver
  • Identifies and drive opportunities to continuously improve; actively informs and involves others in changing processes

Skills
  • Ability to lead project teams across expertise domains (D&E, SS&P, P&D, GMF, CS) without authority
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Organizational savvy: understands where initiatives are deployed and how to align these with own deliverables
  • Broad understanding of Quality & Excellence concepts, methods and impact
  • Good understanding of the ASML product portfolio, internal organization, processes and customer quality needs.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$212,250-318,375

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
