Sensing Function Owner

Your role

At Aptiv, we develop advanced technologies that make mobility safer, greener, and more connected. As a Sensing Function Owner, you will play a key role in delivering camera-based sensing functions used in Active Safety systems. You will bridge system requirements, software development, validation activities, and stakeholder expectations to ensure our solutions meet the highest quality standards.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of a sensing function throughout the entire development lifecycle, from requirements definition to production readiness. Working closely with global engineering teams, you will:

• Own and drive the development of a Vision sensing function

• Translate system requirements into clear deliverables for software teams

• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, project managers, and internal customers

• Support Agile planning activities and provide technical guidance during development

• Monitor technical progress and help resolve complex functional issues

• Analyse system behaviour through testing and validation activities, including vehicle testing

• Ensure that requirements are fulfilled and the function is ready for serial production

• Contribute to the development of next-generation Active Safety solutions used by leading automotive manufacturers worldwide

• Holds a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Physics, Telecommunications, or a related field

• Has experience working with complex software or system development projects

• Demonstrates strong leadership, ownership, and stakeholder management skills

• Communicates confidently in English, both written and spoken

• Enjoys solving technical challenges and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

• Experience in Active Safety, ADAS, or automotive systems development, including familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 26262

• Knowledge of camera-, radar-, or sensor fusion-based technologies and their application in vehicle perception systems

• Experience working in Agile development environments and understanding of modern product and software development processes

• Practical experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++, automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet), and engineering tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, or CANape
