This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience division.

Summary:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with our Advanced Safety & User Experience division in Carmel, IN (relocation offered within the USA). This role is primarily responsible for the Electrical Hardware design of Perception Systems including Radar and Computer Vision for Active Safety electronics products in Automotive applications.

Summary / Responsibilities:

• Work independently on design tasks to lead the electrical hardware design

• Design Safety Electronics Electrical Hardware Products

• Review customer specifications

• Microprocessor and DSP Digital Core, high speed memory and video signals, analog and digital

control logic, linear and switching power supplies

• Perform worst case analysis and simulations to ensure compliance to customer requirements

• Support product design reviews

• Create and maintain schematic and assembly drawings and release with the change management

• Develop and maintain electrical DFMEA

• Generate electrical information to ECAD for PCB layout and support ECAD designer

• Support hardware prototype builds

• Create product verification plan and perform testing

• Support EMC and validation testing

• Utilize structured problem solving techniques for test failure resolution

• Present product design, analysis and testing to customer

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

• Familiarity with Power Supply design principles

• Familiar with PCB construction and fabrication

• Lab equipment experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes function generators and multimeters

• Familiar with or experience using basic structured problem solving techniques

• Experience using simulation for circuit analysis

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong work ethic to support Product team design efforts and timing

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

• 5 + years' experience in electrical product design from requirements analysis thru product launch

• Familiarity with automotive environmental and electrical design and test standards

• Experience designing for, troubleshooting, and testing EMC compliance

• Familiar with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner schematic and Expedition layout tools

• Experience creating multilayer PCB layouts, stackups, and fabrication

• Experience with MathCad, Maple, or equivalent software and circuit simulation tools

• Experience with or course work on RF theory, microcontrollers, and high speed circuit design

• Experience leading a design project from concept through production launch

• Ability to multitask across various project activities

• Ability to work with a global program team
