YOUR ROLE
As a GTC Lead Analyst on our team, you will focus on regulatory compliance, supporting operations in Mexico, with an emphasis on IMMEX compliance and the correct application of preferential trade programs (including the USMCA).
In your daily job you will:
- Support IMMEX compliance, ensuring full compliance with applicable legal requirements and internal controls.
- IMMEX Compliance
- Support Annex 24 compliance activities, including inventory accuracy, reconciliations, data consistency, and audit preparation.
- Ensure proper management of imports and exports, addressing discrepancies and compliance risks proactively. Support related regulatory programs, including Annex 31 (VAT Certification) where applicable.
- Trade Compliance and Regulatory Requirements Interpret and apply Mexican customs regulations, internal rules, and international trade requirements.
- Collaborate with internal controls and audits. Identify risks and opportunities to improve compliance processes and documentation. NAFTA Analysis (Focused on USMCA)
- Conduct detailed USMCA eligibility assessments and interpretation of rules of origin, including analysis of tariff changes and calculations of regional value content (TRC).
- Review and validate USMCA certificates of origin, supplier declarations, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Finance to assess how product design, sourcing changes, or bill of materials (BOM) structures affect USMCA eligibility and exposure to tariffs. Maintain accurate FTA documentation and ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
- Support training and awareness about the USMCA and other applicable FTAs.
- Identify opportunities to optimize tariff savings through the responsible and compliant use of preferential trade programs.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Tax and customs brokers.
- Provide guidance on compliance considerations for new projects, system changes, sourcing decisions, and operational adjustments.
- Support internal stakeholder training on IMMEX and trade compliance requirements.

YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
- 2-5 years of experience in international trade, customs compliance, IMMEX management, or a related field (customs operational experience will be an asset).
- Familiarization with IMMEX requirements
- Mexican customs regulations, and trade programs such as the USMCA, PROSEC, and Rule 8.
- Experience in reviewing customs documentation or working with customs agents is an asset.
- Ability to interpret regulations, maintain documentation, and effectively manage compliance requirements.
- Intermediate English
- Must have a bachelor's degree
- Availability to travel
- On-site position at Monterrey
