We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Sr. Trade Analyst/Specialist to support and strengthen Applied's growing trade compliance governance in China. This role is designed to address increasing regulatory complexity, operational challenges, and the need for strong cross‑functional collaboration.
The position manages U.S. export control operations for China customers, Customs compliance, and ECCN/HS classification, ensuring robust regulatory interpretation, operational excellence, and effective collaboration with Global Trade, Logistics, and cross functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement China trade regulations, including Customs, MOFCOM Export Control, bonded operations, valuation.
- Explore the tariff saving opportunities, and understand the requirements of FTA/RCEP.
- Serve as the escalation point on customs valuation, declaration accuracy, licenses and permits, and ensure smooth collaboration across Trade and Logistics teams.
- Lead internal and external audits, compliance assurance reviews, and improvement programs.
- Maintain GTS to support ECCN controls and license management.
- Support license application preparation, regulatory submissions, and process improvements.
- Identify trade compliance risks, define corrective/preventive actions, and drive implementation.
- Evaluate current processes and champion improvements in efficiency, productivity, documentation, automation, and internal controls.
- Partner closely with Global Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other key functional teams.
- Engage with government authorities (Customs, MOFCOM, CIQ, bonded zone authorities) during audits, site visits, data clarification, or regulatory inquiries.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or above. Trade, Engineering or Logistics.
- 8+ years hands‑on experience in trade compliance and customs operations within multinational companies.
- Deep knowledge of China Customs regulations, bonded operations, import/export controls, HS/ECCN classification, valuation, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. EAR and experience using GTS or other trade compliance systems.
- Proven experience managing compliance reviews, audits, and trade operations.
- Strong analytical and cross‑functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent English and Chinese (written and spoken).

- Exposure to international compliance regimes (e.g., US EAR)
- Comfort navigating dynamic, high‑growth, and fast‑changing regulatory environments.
