Job Summary:
The Software Engineer will be an integral part of the WMO (Worldwide Manufacturing Operations), Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) team, responsible for the design and development of test fixture solutions comprising semi-automated and fully automated test equipment (ATE), based out of Bangalore, India. This role requires a strong system level- understanding of semiconductor manufacturing tools, ion beam deposition, gas panels, vacuum chambers, and related test environments, along with hands-on- experience in developing and configuring test fixture software and test scripts for automated testing. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding hardware behavior, processes, and tool software at a deep technical level, and translating that knowledge into robust test sequences and validations for modules and sub-assemblies such as I/O controllers, motion controls, heaters, and electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and fluid devices used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Job Responsibilities: Design, develop, debug, and deploy software and test scripts for functional testing using semi ATEs and ATEs Understand system level architecture and tool operation to effectively configure and validate- test sequences. Identify test requirements based on hardware functionality, process behavior, and operational conditions, and propose appropriate solutions to strengthen test coverage and automation. Work closely with project engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, develop functional requirement documents and ensure timely completion of projects. Maintain software assets using version control systems, ensuring traceability and support for future upgrades. Manage and architect data logging, analysis, and reporting solutions to support validation and troubleshooting. Assist in system integration activities, ensuring functional verification of hardware and software layers. Conduct regular system evaluation to ensure compliance with our safety, quality, and operational standards. Provide technical support to operational teams, including knowledge transfer, and sharing of best-known methods (BKMs). Continuously upskill in test automation techniques, AI based test methodologies relevant to manufacturing environments.

Skills Required:
Mandatory Skills:
❖System & Test Development Orientation:
- Strong system‑level understanding of manufacturing tools, chambers, and test environments.
- Ability to translate hardware behavior and process knowledge into effective automated test scripts
❖Programming & Scripting:
- C# / .NET: OOPs, WPF, data binding, MVVM, state management, Dependency Injection, Visual Studio IDE
- C & Python Programing
- Data acquisition & GUI development, Source code version control (Bit Bucket)
❖Communication Protocols:
- Serial (RS-232,422,485), Device Net, EtherCAT, Modbus, Digital IO, Analog IO, TCP/IP Socket, VISA.
❖Hardware Skills:
- ATE, Data Acquisition using NI CDAQ and Beckhoff IOs, Electrical fundamentals (motion control)
- Knowledge of working with sensors (thermal, vibration, motion, pressure, etc.)
- Ability to understand hardware behavior, signal flow, and interlocks during testing.
Soft Skills:
Adapt internal processes faster to handle software development projects with minimal supervision.
Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with international stakeholders.
Good analytical, troubleshooting and presentation skills.
Experience: 6-10 years of relevant industry experience
Education:
Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/Computer Science Engineering
Work hours flexibility:
- This job role requires 5 days' work from the office and in a lab environment.
- May require work on a shift basis based on business needs.
- Domestic and International: 20-30%
