In Applied Materials, we offer wide range of internship and co-op positions for qualified college and university students studying technology and/or business. Project 1: A Deep Learning-based Vision Inspection System for Outgoing Process Control
- Work with engineers to understand project requirements, collect data, develop, and deploy model
- Understand their interface, functionalities, and the process of model training, deployment within this platform
- Evaluate model performance using various metrics and learning technique to optimize and fine-tune models for better accuracy
Project 2: GT Cobot Leak Check
- Work with engineers to understand project requirements, collect data, develop, and deploy model
- Develop and implement an automated system for detecting and mitigating leaks in engineering systems
- Create a reliable, efficient, and scalable solution to identify leaks, analyze their causes, and propose preventive measures using advanced automation technologies
Project 3: Smart Factory & Automation - Enhancing Manufacturing Efficiency through Automation
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for automation
- Develop and implement automation solutions and technologies
- Evaluate new technologies for partial/full automation in a semiconductor equipment manufacturing environment
- Present findings and technical recommendations to the extended engineering team.
Project 4: Smart Factory - Automated Assembly or Final Test
- Analyze data, identify improvement opportunities and drive improvement projects
- Learn advanced semiconductor equipment major components' theory and functionality and exposed to equipment manufacturing process with the focus on automated assembly or final test
Project 5: Assembly and Test Automation
- Analyze the manufacturing assembly steps associated to identify opportunities for reducing Standard Labour Hour (SLH)
- Implement actions to achieve SLH reduction
- Identify opportunities in assembly and test work centers where automation can be implemented to increase factory automation capability
- Experience some roles and responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer in Applied Materials
Student Requirements:
- Ability to commit for at least 6 months (within May - Dec 2025)
- Ability to commit full-time 5 days a week (No part-time available)
- Willing to work in a cleanroom environment
- Basic skills in any of the following is a plus: Phython, Tableau, PLC, SQL, CAD, C++
