What You'll Do
This role is ideal for new college graduates or early‑career engineers who enjoy both hands‑on technical work and teaching others. As an NPI Technical Instructor, you will learn cutting‑edge semiconductor equipment and help develop and deliver training on new products as they are introduced into production.
You will be embedded with the product development team in Santa Clara, gaining deep exposure to new tools, chambers, and systems. With support from senior instructors and engineers, you will help create and deliver classroom and hands‑on training used by manufacturing, field service, and customers worldwide.
This position offers a unique blend of engineering, learning & development, and project experience, and is a strong entry point into training, product support, product engineering, or field service career paths.
Role & Responsibilities
- Learn and support new semiconductor equipment and tools during New Product Introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle (PLC) phases while embedded with the business unit in Santa Clara
- Gain hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, software, vacuum, and process subsystems of new chambers, mainframes, and tools
- Assist in the development, update, and organization of training materials, including presentations, student guides, lab exercises, and documentation
- Deliver and support classroom and hands‑on technical training, including structured factory on‑the‑job training (OJT), with guidance from senior instructors
- Work with engineers, product groups, and subject‑matter experts to gather accurate technical information and ensure training content reflects current product capabilities
- Support training system readiness by helping maintain safe, functional lab equipment aligned to course objectives and safety standards
- Participate in multiple concurrent NPI projects, helping track progress, updates, and training deliverables
- Assist in identifying and improving procedures, schematics, and documentation issues in coordination with the business unit
- Present training at internal sites and, as needed, customer locations (domestic and international)
- Collaborate with other instructors and contribute to continuous improvement of training methods and materials
- Continue to grow technical and instructional skills through formal training, self‑study, and hands‑on experience

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Mechatronics), Engineering Technology, Physics, or a closely related technical field
- 0-3 years of experience, including internships, co‑ops, lab work, or early‑career roles involving technical systems, equipment, or manufacturing environments
- Interest in technical training, knowledge sharing, or instructional development
- Interest in hands‑on technical work and the ability to learn complex equipment and systems
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently while receiving mentorship and guidance
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%, including domestic and international travel
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing or capital equipment (internships or academic projects count)
- Experience with any of the following: Mechanical or electrical systems; PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, or automation; vacuum systems, pneumatics, or power distribution
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, training delivery, or technical presentations
- Familiarity with documentation development, photography, videography, or content creation for training purposes

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
