Applied Materials' Research and Development department (Varian R&D) is searching for an intern to join our team starting in 2025! Our R&D department is working on state-of-the-art tools which are the backbone of the semiconductor industry. Through novel engineering we are advancing processes such as deposition, etch, pattern shaping, and material modification.

Co-op/intern start date: Nov/Dec 2025 for 6-9 months, on-site at our Gloucester, MA location


Requirements

  • Preference for students in their final year in a Doctoral degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Experience/knowledge in semiconductor processing or manufacturing a big plus
  • Quick learner. Hands-on and not afraid of building and dissembling things. Good communication skills. Well organized with attention to details.
  • Available to work for 6 - 9 months

$47 - 50 per hour
