Apple's WW Logistics team is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Manager to lead our Global Freight Desk and Freight Audit functions. This critical role involves managing a global team of logistics specialists responsible for the worldwide movement of non-finished goods or service unit shipments, ensuring optimal cost and on-time performance. Concurrently, you will oversee a team dedicated to the accurate and timely payment of all freight bills. We are looking for a leader with deep expertise in both transportation and audit, capable of implementing robust management systems, driving continuous improvement through clear KPIs, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies for efficiency and streamlining.

WW Freight Desk & Freight Audit manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing Apple's global logistics operations. This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage and inspire a diverse, global team across two distinct yet interconnected functions.
The Freight Desk team orchestrates the end-to-end movement of non-finished goods or service units worldwide. This involves close collaboration with Apple's strategic freight forwarders and their control towers to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of critical materials and services. Your leadership will ensure strong vendor management practices and seamless cross-functional support to various Apple teams.
The Freight Audit team safeguards the financial integrity of our freight expenditures. This involves managing specialists who work diligently with third-party freight audit providers, carriers, forwarders, and internal procurement, finance, and operations teams to verify billing accuracy and facilitate timely payments.

Freight Desk Operations: Oversee the global movement of non-finished goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, operational excellence, and on-time performance. Manage and optimize relationships with strategic freight forwarders and their control towers, implementing robust vendor management practices. Collaborate cross-functionally to support diverse shipping needs across Apple.
Freight Audit Operations: Direct the freight audit team in collaborating with external providers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate billing and timely payment of freight invoices. Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Operations to resolve discrepancies, optimize payment processes, and ensure financial compliance, developing strategies to minimize billing errors.
Strategic & Operational Management: Design, implement, and manage effective operational systems and processes for both functions. Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and service enhancement.
Technology & Innovation: Stay abreast of advancements in logistics and freight audit technologies, championing the adoption of new solutions to drive efficiencies, streamline operations, and enhance data analytics.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Apple and external partners, including carriers, forwarders, and audit providers.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA/MS in BA/BS in supply chain, logistics, analytics or related field
Proven experience managing and developing global teams, ideally across different time zones and cultures.
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in supply chain, logistics, analytics or related field and 10+ years of experience in global logistics, transportation management, or supply chain operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Demonstrated expertise in both transportation operations (e.g., freight forwarding, carrier management, global shipping) and freight audit processes.
Proven experience managing and developing teams.
Strong vendor management skills, with a track record of successfully managing strategic carrier and forwarder relationships.
Experience in developing, implementing, and managing operational systems and KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $188,000 and $282,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
