Vision Framework Software Engineer - SIML, ISE

The Vision Framework team within the System Intelligence and Machine Learning (SIML) group, as part of the ISE organization in Apple, is responsible for imaging, computer vision and machine learning for Apple's image and video products. This team provides the building blocks for a diverse array of technologies, including new exciting features such as Live Text and Photos Memories on macOS and iOS. The group combines research and development in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an experienced software engineer. The position involves integrating advanced computer vision technology into products that improve the daily experience for millions of users.
Description
In this role, you will help take breakthrough computer vision and machine learning algorithms out of the labs, and put them into products used by millions of people every day. This ranges from framework implementation, to benchmarking, prototyping, and integrating our technology into the next generation of products for both mobile and the desktop applications.
The qualified candidate is required to have a consistent track record as a senior member, or tech lead for general software engineering teams. We're looking for a flexible engineer who enjoys using their skills to exceed in a wide variety of tasks. Excellent problem solving skills are of paramount importance, as is a passion for writing quality code.
The qualified candidate must have exemplary written and verbal communication skills, along with possessing the ability to work hands-on in cross functional teams. You'll be joining a fast-paced team, so collaboration skills are a must. Resumes containing broad and diverse experiences that reflect an ability to perform in a variety of work environments using a myriad technologies will be strongly considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for quality software configuration management processes such as unit tests, code reviews and working with continuous integration is required
Domain experience in computer vision or a related field (computer graphics, image processing, multimedia, etc.) is preferred
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of industry experience
Strong C, or C++ /Objective-C experience
Strong coding skills in general software engineering, preferably across multiple platforms and languages and for a variety of different solutions, is highly desirable
Proven ability to design and implement solutions using modern architectural concepts and processes

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
