VFX Production Artist

The Immersive Content Group post production department delivers high-quality Apple Immersive projects for Vision Pro. This role works on the ICG Post VFX team which collaborates closely with internal creative teams, external creative partners, and production vendors to deliver all aspects of VFX and graphics for Apple Immersive experiences. The team also develops Apple Immersive VFX workflows used within Apple and contributes to the resources available to 3rd parties for Apple Immersive VFX workflows.

The Immersive VFX Production Artist is an artist-producer hybrid role responsible for executing high-complexity shot work while supporting the development, documentation, and communication of immersive VFX workflows between internal teams, vendors and partners.","responsibilities":"Execute VFX shot work end-to-end, including roto, tracking, paint, animation, element creation, and matte extractions across Apple Immersive projects
Composite within the unique technical requirements of Apple Immersive content, including custom per-camera stereoscopic fisheye formats at higher resolutions and frame rates than traditional VFX workflows
Deliver both invisible VFX that seamlessly integrate into final deliverables and technically complex work requiring mathematical precision and creative problem-solving
Provide technical guidance on immersive content to junior artists and project-based collaborators
Review vendor submissions to ensure they meet established quality standards and technical specifications
Support production tracking efforts to maintain visibility on project progress, deadlines, and resource allocation
Contribute feedback on evolving tools and pipelines to help document and refine new workflows and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to mentor junior artists and deliver constructive technical guidance
Experience compositing for immersive or emerging display formats, ideally including fisheye or custom projection workflows
Familiarity with DCC 3D applications such as Maya, Cinema 4D, or Blender
Experience working with STMaps and compositing CG AOV passes in Nuke's 3D system
Reel that includes stereoscopic or immersive content with shot breakdowns
Comfortable working in active development tools and pipelines, with a track record of contributing to workflow documentation and refinement

Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of professional VFX compositing experience for commercial, TV, or film with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality work
Expert proficiency in Nuke
Deep expertise in stereoscopic compositing, specifically with live-action captured stereoscopic media designed for stereoscopic exhibition
Demonstrated experience reviewing vendor or external partner submissions and providing clear, actionable feedback

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,800 and $203,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
