Description

The App Store & Gaming Research team is looking for an extraordinary hands-on user researcher who can design and conduct research studies, analyze data, and deliver insights that drive meaningful impact on existing and new features in the App Store, Apple Arcade, and Apple Games. As a user researcher you will be an integral part of the design process and be responsible for planning and leading research projects across all of our platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Vision Pro. Research projects will include both quantitative and qualitative methodologies ranging from foundational to evaluative user research. You possess exceptional research capabilities to design studies with the most effective approach, considering the questions and any constraints.You also have rigorous analytical and sense-making skills to translate data and learnings into valuable insights. Furthermore, you have the experience and knowledge to educate and help cross-functional teams and leadership in understanding user needs and behaviors. You flourish in a dynamic, ever-changing, and deadline driven environment. You are a great collaborator and a phenomenal communicator, able to develop and present design ideas in a large team environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Production, Product Marketing, and Senior Management to identify research opportunities, desired learnings objectives, and long term goals. Strong communication skills and ability to stay highly organized is essential. You should be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in human computer interactions (HCI), human factors, cognitive science, anthropology, sociology, psychology, or related field
  • 5+ years research experience working within a technical environment
  • Proven experience with multi-disciplinary teams (Research, Design, Engineering, Business, R&D, and others) to ideate, iterate, launch, and refine new product designs
  • Experience in conducting qualitative and qualitative research methodologies ranging from generative to evaluative approaches (such as in-depth interviews, usability tests, surveys, and diary studies)
  • Demonstrated success at developing and leading executive presentations for recommendations
  • An excellent research portfolio showcasing deep and rigorous research thinking and impact
  • Able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal
  • A passion for Apple, it's products, and its customers is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in Pages, and Keynote
  • Proficiency in data processing and analytical tools such as R, SQL, SPSS or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in e-commerce environment is a plus

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
