Tools and Automation Engineer - Fitness

As a tools and automation engineer, you'll build the intelligent tools and automation that allow our engineering teams to triage, investigate, and resolve issues at scale. Your work will directly strengthen software quality and ensure we continue to ship amazing fitness experiences to millions of users.
Description
As a Tools and Automation Engineer on the Fitness team, you will develop systems to triage incoming bugs, analyze logs, and automate workflows for critical fitness technologies (such as Fitness+, Workout, Activity Rings, and Depth). You'll work with bug screeners and integration engineers to identify process and technology gaps and then design, implement, and maintain innovative solutions. You will also partner with other similar teams cross-functionally to make sure we are always adopting the latest tools and techniques. Your automation solutions will enable our team to scale efficiently while maintaining our high quality bar.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large language models (like Apple Foundation Models, Claude, Gemini, or other LLMs)
Familiarity with software development processes
Familiarity with Apple development tools
Experience developing apps with Objective-C and Swift, and frameworks like SwiftUI
Experience debugging software issues
Expertise with bug tracking systems
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 2+ years of software engineering work experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creative problem solver, undaunted by big problem spaces
Upbeat, adaptable, and results-oriented attitude
Able to effectively organize, categorize, and communicate about large sets of bug reports and feature enhancements
Experience with source code management using git
