Description

In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive tests to verify the functional integrity of our design on both FPGA prototyping platforms and final ASICs across a full range of PVT conditions. You will lead hands-on debugging of system-level failures in the lab, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in silicon design, board design, software, and manufacturing. Additionally, you will measure and optimize silicon performance, ensuring our products deliver a consistent and compelling user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and influence test and debug architecture by partnering with silicon and module design teams.
  • Develop and bring up validation platforms in collaboration with board design team.
  • Author and execute comprehensive validation plan for our custom silicon and firmware.
  • Build and maintain automation software and scripts for data collection and analysis.
  • Lead hands-on debug of complex system-level issues, driving them to resolution with cross-functional partners.
  • Provide expert validation support for ATE bring up, module bring up and validation, product integration, and manufacturing failure analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in silicon validation, including test planning, test script development, failure analysis, and system-level debug.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, system-on-chip (SoC) design, and system-level use cases.
  • Experience developing test scripts and automation infrastructure using languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
  • Experience working with RTL (Verilog or SystemVerilog).
  • Experience validating designs with embedded processors and peripherals (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FPGA-based prototyping and system validation.
  • Experience in embedded firmware development and debug.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interface protocols such as DisplayPort, HDMI, MIPI, or PCIe.
  • Experience in silicon power measurement and characterization, with knowledge of power optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in interpreting board schematics, with hands-on experience in validation platform development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience applying AI coding assistants to accelerate development tasks like code generation, analysis, and debugging.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
