The Retail Design Standards and Implementation team is dedicated to delivering extraordinary retail experiences through flawless execution. In close partnership with key retail stakeholders, we transform innovative designs into tangible realities for Apple stores worldwide. By upholding rigorous standards and meticulous implementation planning, we ensure that every store is a testament to Apple's commitment to excellence, delighting customers and empowering them to connect with our products in meaningful ways. We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated professional to join our team as a Standards Design Manager to represent and lead all aspects of the Retail Design Standards.

Description
As a Standards Design Manager, you will manage all documentation of the Retail Design Standards, establish accuracy and consistency across all tools and platforms, partner with our Standards architect, engineers and consultants to ensure the highest level of quality of deliverables, and collaborate with cross-functional partners within Apple Retail. You will work closely with Design Innovation, Project Management and Development teams to ensure seamless integration of new design elements into new and active projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain and represent comprehensive Retail Design Standards and Implementation documentation through prototypical Construction Documents, Specifications, Design Guidance, Product Standards, Shop Drawings, BIM and supporting information and tools.
- Find innovative strategies to streamline incorporation into the Retail Design Standard and Implementation distributions and platforms
- Lead, develop and implement training programs to ensure effective utilization of Retail Design Standards on a continuous basis with both internal and external partners
- Oversee multiple design initiatives, in close collaboration with Retail Design Standards and implementation consultants and partners, to ensure high quality, comprehensively captured design solutions
- Strategically guide design direction, ensuring timely and decisive decision-making to meet schedule expectations
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of architecture, construction or related industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or related field
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams of design, construction, and technology specialists.
- Demonstrated experience and success in planning, scheduling, coordinating and ensuring high quality deliverables and execution of multiple projects effectively and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Solution-based individual contributor who can build consensus, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment
- A self-motivated individual who acts with decisive, informed instincts, skillfully managing time and prioritizing tasks for optimal results
- Highly analytical, with the ability to develop multiple design solutions and strategies, clearly communicating the risks and benefits of each
- Demonstrates working knowledge of industry-standard BIM tools, cloud based platforms and strategies to maintain these tools
- Thrives in a detail-oriented environment and possesses outstanding organizational skills
- Experience with global design standards and implementation is a plus
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,300 and $263,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
