Apple is seeking highly skilled and creative engineers interested in advancing speech and

audio technologies on the audio algorithms team. As a member of the team, you will

research multimodal deep learning approaches to leverage audio, video, and other

signals for improving speech and audio acquisition. You will work alongside a group of

researchers developing machine learning and multichannel signal processing

technologies for speech enhancement including source separation, adaptive

beamforming, de-reverberation, and source localization. You'll collaborate with multiple

teams across product development, software, and Siri to integrate your ideas into

products and build future technologies that will impact millions of Apple customers.

Description

As an member of the audio algorithms team, this engineer will research and invent novel

solutions for challenging speech and audio problems that directly affect the future of

Apple products. This team is part of the Audio & Media Technologies Group in Software

Engineering which provides audio, video, and graphics support across all Apple

products, including iPhone, iPad, HomePod, AirPods, Apple TV, Mac, and Apple Watch.

The Audio Software group is a hardworking group of audio engineers and researchers

building high profile features such as FaceTime, Siri, music playback, audio/video

capture, and game audio for macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. We are excited to add a

member to our team with the above qualifications!

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-microphone algorithm development

Proven understanding of deep learning toolkits (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)

Fluency in Python

Experience with machine learning methods for video scene understanding a plus

Experience with speech recognition systems and toolkits a plus

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science or related

Research experience in audio or speech algorithm development (patents,

papers, etc.)

Experience in machine learning for audio or speech processing
