The Photos QE team is dedicated to delivering world class quality for the Photos app across Apple's platforms. From capturing cherished personal moments to preserving, enriching, and sharing those memories with others, we work to exceed the expectations of our many users every day. As a Software Integrity Engineer, you'll own quality for specific feature areas end to end, serving as a proactive partner to engineering and driving quality through comprehensive test strategies, effective execution, and clear communication. Description

As a Software Integrity Engineer, you will be the quality owner for critical features within the Photos app. You will collaborate with peers across development and quality teams to ensure the robustness of new and ongoing core user experiences and frameworks. Your responsibilities will encompass functional, regression, and integration testing across platforms in the Apple ecosystem.

While working as part of a close-knit team, you will independently investigate, triage, escalate, and resolve issues you and others encounter. Your daily work will involve iterative software validation of both existing and new tools and technologies, utilizing both manual and automated approaches. This role requires someone who takes initiative, communicates proactively, and can balance multiple concurrent projects. You'll leverage modern tools, including AI-assisted development tools and test automation, to enhance your productivity and impact.","responsibilities":"Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies from planning through ship

Engage proactively with engineering DRIs and cross-functional partners to drive quality

Identify and mitigate quality risks early

Create and maintain test cases with clear steps and verification criteria

File, screen, and drive bugs through resolution

Develop test automation in support of UI features and frameworks

Communicate testing status, feature quality, and risks clearly to stakeholders

Support team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of QE practices

Preferred Qualifications

Experience testing Photos, Camera, or similar digital media applications, including ingest, sharing, editing, organizing, and intelligent experiences

Experience testing consumer-facing applications on iOS and macOS

Strong knowledge of Apple's hardware and software ecosystem

Experience with test automation using Python, Swift, XCTest, or similar frameworks

Experience with automation within the Apple ecosystem, including Jenkins, remote VM, automation triage, and CI processes

Understanding of industry-standard QE practices, including shift-left testing and CI/CD integration

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot

Track record of proactive ownership and follow-through

Enthusiasm for staying current with modern tools, technologies, and best practices

Passion for photography and user experience

Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications

2-3 years of professional experience in software quality engineering or consumer software test engineering, utilizing manual and automated methods

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Strong understanding of QE fundamentals, including test planning, test execution, and bug management

Experience working collaboratively with engineering teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective problem and defect discovery

Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive work independently

Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines while keeping to a holistic quality vision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable sharing considered opinions and seeking the same from others

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $101,200 and $197,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
