We create batch and streaming solutions using Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, Java/Scala, and other state of the art technologies in a cloud-hosted infrastructure environment. Description
As a Engineering Manager focused on Commerce Analytics, you will have significant responsibility and influence in shaping its strategic direction. This role is inherently multi-functional, and the ideal candidate will work across disciplines. We are looking for someone with a love for data and the ability to iterate quickly. This position involves hiring and working with small engineering teams to develop large-scale Data Pipelines and Analytical solutions using Big Data technologies. Successful candidates will have strong engineering skills and communication and a belief that data-driven processes lead to phenomenal products.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in distributed data processing using Big Data technologies like Spark/Scala, Java/Flink, Hadoop/HDFS/S3, Cassandra, and Kafka
Proficiency in data modeling, data design, SQL, and NoSQL databases
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical partners
Ability to deliver consistent high quality results while working in a dynamic & fast environment
Passionate, curious, and seeking to tackle everyday problems with innovation
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent
7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with 2+ years as an Engineering Manager
2+ years working with Commerce and Analytics data like downloads, purchases, transactions, subscriptions, and clickstream
Experience working with PII and GDPR data
Experience in hiring, growing, and mentoring high-performing teams
Experience partnering with Data Engineers, Engineering Managers, EPMs, QA, SRE, and Analytics teams on new batch & streaming data pipelines
Experience using tech solutions like Git, Gradle, Airflow, and Kubernetes to build & deploy apps and jobs on cloud-hosted services

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $188,200 and $325,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
