You will work and contribute towards engineering the server stack for iCloud Accounts suite of services and help us grow this platform to cater to future needs. You will work with multiple teams, helping implement complex systems and develop high-performance services to support billions of concurrent users. You will work on all aspects of software development, from feature exploration to development, testing, and maintenance of the applications. The opportunities for you to make an impact are boundless. Responsibilities:
Device & Feature Onboarding: Develop and extend platform capabilities to support the onboarding of new devices and features onto iCloud.
Backend Resiliency: Partner with device teams to design and implement solutions that strengthen backend resiliency against request storms and peak loads.
Customer Experience Optimization: Improve response times and server stability for critical user-facing actions to deliver a consistently reliable customer experience.
Data Protection & Security: Enhance security protocols to safeguard customer data against malicious actors, while ensuring a frictionless experience for legitimate users.
Abuse Prevention: Implement inline checks and preventative controls to mitigate spam, credential stuffing, and related attack vectors.
Environment Stability: Maintain and uphold the stability and health of both pre-production and production environments.
Engineering Excellence: Contribute to team success through code reviews, deployment monitoring, outage triage and troubleshooting, and active participation in design discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
Solid understanding of multi-threaded programming, networking fundamentals, and non-blocking I/O.
Working knowledge of large-scale database systems (relational and/or NoSQL).
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and organizations.
Optional Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of industry experience developing server-side software in Java, Go, or comparable object-oriented languages.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
