Developer Experience Platform team is looking for an extraordinary Python backend engineer who has a robust understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)and Generative AI to join our team. You will help design, implement the core backend services and pipelines that integrate with various other enterprise services including LLMs and bring Gen AI services. You would support our mission by applying groundbreaking research in this rapidly evolving and exciting space, to our daily work. By contributing to our team, you'll play an integral part in developing our developer productivity tools, leaving a significant footprint on the evolution of our enterprise AI platforms.

The Developer Experience (DevX) Platform team builds the frameworks, services, and tools that empower internal engineering teams across Apple to move faster and ship with confidence. We're now pioneering a Generative AI-powered Developer Experience Platform - reimagining how Apple engineers build, test, and deploy software.
We're looking for a talented Software Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered developer tooling, tools that hundreds of Apple engineers depend on every day. In this role, you'll design and implement intelligent agents that transform the software development lifecycle end-to-end - from initial development through testing, deployment, and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of deep engineering fundamentals and cutting-edge AI agent development. You'll tackle complex challenges across distributed systems, developer tooling infrastructure, and AI agent orchestration, all in service of making Apple's engineers more productive than ever","responsibilities":"ake a hands-on role in developing and supporting both new and existing platform features, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to navigate the complex interdependencies of large-scale application development.
Design, build, and optimize scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Python - powering the developer efficiency workflows that Apple engineers rely on every day.
Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code that reflects Apple's high bar for engineering excellence.
Actively contribute to code reviews, architectural discussions, and production incident response - sharing knowledge, raising the bar, and elevating quality across the team
Preferred Qualifications
A genuine passion for developer experience and deep empathy for building tools that empower engineers to do their best work.
Experience with TypeScript and frontend development, along with exposure to additional backend technologies such as Go or Kotlin.
Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems principles, and microservice architecture.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment at scale.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of industry experience designing and building scalable, high-performance backend systems, with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong programming proficiency in Java and Python, with hands-on experience in relational and NoSQL databases and scalable service-oriented architectures.
Experience developing AI agents using frameworks such as LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, and similar libraries

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
