Software Engineer, Accessibility
At Apple, the Wearables Accessibility team is dedicated to building tools and technologies that empower people to use Apple's wearables products and accessories more easily. Whether through MFi Hearing Aids, Live Captions, or a gesture based AssistiveTouch experience on Apple Watch, our mission is simple: to make the world easier to navigate and more approachable with accessible Apple technology.
Description
We're looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about creating accessible experiences that give every user full control of their device, regardless of ability. In this role, you'll build and refine accessibility features related to hearing loss across Apple platforms, such as MFi Hearing Aid support and Live Captions, as well as assistive technologies across Apple Watch and AirPods, such as VoiceOver, and AssistiveTouch. If you're eager to learn, innovate, and make meaningful contributions, you'll thrive on our team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with at least one of the following languages and related development tools: ObjectiveC, Swift, C++, or C
- Ability to learn quickly and grapple with complex, critical code
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Upbeat, adaptable, and results-oriented attitude
- Aptitude for independently learning new technologies
- Passion for quality and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Apple Accessibility APIs and/or Accessibility technologies
- Familiarity with audio-related software development
- Experience in developing safe and efficient multithreaded software systems
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
- Ability to create, understand and maintain Object-Oriented software designs
- Excitement to build software that makes a tangible difference in people's lives
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $194,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
