Software Development Engineer in Test, Customer Systems
Our org is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented SoftwareDevelopment Engineer in Test (SDET). Our team builds and manages global, business-critical applications that power Apple's entire service and support ecosystem. These solutions are leveraged by Apple Service Providers, Carriers, Mac Depots, Resellers, Enterprise customers, and every Genius Bar in Apple Retail, enabling a seamless, world-class repair and customer support experience across millions of devices
Description
We are looking for an SDET with strong expertise in test automation, distributed systems validation, and quality engineering. You will also be responsible for establishing performance baselines, conducting capacity planning, and ensuring system resilience through comprehensive testing strategies. Familiarity with GenAI-driven features and MCP (Multi-Component Pipelines) is a plus, as you'll have opportunities to apply GenAI in end-to-end automation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with UI mockups, workflow modeling, or customer-journey testing
Understanding of reliability engineering (retries, backoff, SLOs, timeouts, idempotency)
Exposure to AI based response evaluation frameworks (basic familiarity only)
Experience with observability stacks (Splunk, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
Motivation to learn and explore GenAI leveraging applications to enhance automation, testing efficiency, and/or quality insights; prior experience is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
4 plus years experience using industry standard automation tools, reporting frameworks, CI/CD integrations, deployment processes, and code quality checking tools.
Experience with load and performance testing.
Experience testing APIs/Web Services and leveraging GenAI for validations.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
