Description

APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Assist with data platform powering the Universal Search for TV App, Siri, and Spotlight across all Apple devices using No-SQL and SQL data modeling and database techniques to handle data persistence and retrieval. Demonstrate hands on experience with large scale distributed systems and implement and deploy micro services using docker and Kubernetes. Design complex computer science and systems and ability to quickly learn new domains and technologies. Work with large data sets and pipelines, ideally using tools and libraries such as Spark. Process entity metadata for various domains (e.g. Sports, People) to materialize canonical metadata used across a variety of Apps. Design and implement data services using Solr/Lucene or Elastic search-based document creation and search techniques. Build the next generation knowledge graph based on advanced algorithms, machine learning and natural language processing. Build and maintain large scale distributed software systems using in-depth knowledge of Java and Python. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 - $250,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
• Experience in building backend service, including DB access, caching and complex business logic implementation.
• Experience in large scale data extraction and analysis using MySQL, Spark and Hadoop.
• Using Kafka messaging system and schema design, including implementing services that receive and send data via Kafka payload.
• Using micro-service architecture, including experience with distributed system (Docker and Kubernetes).
• Experience with SQL, Cassandra, Elastic search, including data access components that either read or write to these data bases.
• Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams.
• Experience researching technical findings and communicating them with a team of engineers.
