Our lean, high-impact team is looking for a collaborative and technically skilled Software Development Engineer to help drive innovation and operational improvements across our end-to-end business processes. In this role, you will apply deep technical knowledge, propose new ideas, and contribute to optimizing critical systems making a meaningful impact at the team and department level while continuing to grow your craft at Apple.
Description
As a Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to shaping our technical infrastructure and supporting operational excellence across our business processes. Bringing a thorough understanding of relevant technical concepts, you will exercise independence in solving problems, seek and integrate feedback effectively, and collaborate closely with teammates and cross-functional partners. This role is well suited for an engineer who is ready to take on growing ownership, propose process improvements, and deliver high-quality work with broad impact at the team and department level.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for internal systems and tools
Diagnose system issues through log analysis and system diagnostics, exercising independent judgment in resolving technical problems
Build and maintain data visualization dashboards using Tableau to support team decision-making
Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reliability, and efficiency of software tools and processes, and propose solutions to the team
Contribute to complex technical projects from planning through delivery, supporting timelines and quality standards
Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, assisting teammates as needed and representing the team's work clearly to stakeholders
Escalate risks and blockers proactively, coming prepared with proposed solutions
Demonstrate growing awareness of organizational, technical, and program context to prioritize work appropriately
Support the establishment and maintenance of operational efficiency standards across diagnostics, logistics, and infrastructure processes
Contribute to the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements and automation opportunities, with innovation that has a meaningful impact on the team
Provide technical guidance to internal partners and assist in coordinating operational workflows
Share knowledge with junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented team environment
Actively nurture professional relationships and build your internal network across teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience contributing to projects within a supply chain, logistics, or operations technology context
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Exposure to enterprise systems such as SAP, Agile PLM, or MDM
Experience authoring or contributing to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical
documentation

Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of software development experience with demonstrated proficiency in Python, JavaScript (JSON), and SQL
Experience in data collection, handling, and visualization, including tools such as Tableau
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and content delivery networks (CDNs)
Demonstrated ability to diagnose system issues through log analysis and system diagnostics
Ability to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements and automation solutions
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, prioritize work, and integrate feedback constructively
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
