SoC System Level Test Product Development Engineer
Do you love crafting sophisticated solutions to highly complex challenges? Do you intrinsically see the importance in every detail? As part of our Silicon Technologies group, you'll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You'll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Joining this group means you'll be responsible for crafting and building the technology that fuels Apple's devices. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices!
Join the System-Level Test Product Development Engineering (SLT-PDE) team, where we design and deploy cutting-edge test solutions that ensure the quality and performance of Apple's next-generation SoCs and semiconductor devices. Our work sits at the intersection of hardware, software, AI/ML automation, and high-volume manufacturing - and directly influences the reliability and user experience of products used by millions around the world.
We're not just running tests - we're building the AI-native debug and characterization platform that turns terabytes of factory and bring-up data into actionable engineering insight in seconds, redefining what "test engineering" looks like in the era of agentic AI.
In this role, you will drive the creation, deployment, and continuous improvement of system-level test methodologies for advanced silicon devices. You will use your strong software and debugging skills to bring up new silicon in early development and ensure robust, scalable solutions as products move into mass production. You will collaborate closely across cross-functional teams in hardware, firmware, software, and factory operations - and increasingly, partner with AI-assisted workflows that amplify every engineer's reach.
Description
• Develop System Level Test (SLT) Test programs from NPI to HVM for Apple SOCs.
• Lead overall deployment of SLT at the OSAT's, working closely with GSM and Test Engineering teams.
• Work with Apple internal Test teams, Product Engineering, QA, Product Management, SW engineering teams
• Computer Architecture - Solid understanding of SoC fundamentals: CPU/GPU pipelines, interconnects, memory hierarchy, cache coherency, boot flow, and power/clock domains. You can reason from architectural intent down to silicon behavior.
• Programming - Strong skills in Python and at least one high-level language such as C++ or C#. Comfortable writing production-quality code and building automation that other engineers depend on.
• Hardware Knowledge - Experience with silicon bring-up, board-level debugging, firmware interaction, or system-level validation is a strong plus.
• Critical Thinking & Problem Solving - Able to navigate from vague symptoms to root cause across hardware/software boundaries.
• Collaboration - Ability to communicate clearly and partner effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Work on technologies that power some of the most iconic products in the world.
• Influence silicon quality and performance at a global scale - your work touches every Apple SoC shipped.
• Operate at the frontier of AI in semiconductor test - we deploy agentic LLM workflows in production debug, not as a science project.
• Collaborative environment where curiosity, initiative, and engineering taste are valued.
• Grow your skills across hardware, software, AI/ML, and manufacturing - few roles offer this breadth.
