Senior Writer, Interactive Experiences

Marcom is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple's consumer facing marketing. We ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications across all medias and platforms. Every day, hundreds of millions of Apple customers around the world interact with our products. We drive the strategy and creative work that provide both new and existing customers with simple, engaging and inspiring marketing experiences. The Interactive Experiences group is part of Apple Marcom and is responsible for designing cutting-edge digital shopping experiences on apple.com, the Apple Store app, and emerging digital platforms. We also create marketing for Apple Store services and programs.

Description

As a senior writer on the Interactive Experiences team, you'll create the narrative that defines an Apple customer shopping experience. You'll craft clear, concise, way-finding copy and copy for direct marketing, retail programs, apps, and in-store experiences under the guidance of an Associate Creative Director and in collaboration with other creative and technical disciplines. You will follow the work from concept through production and delivery, ensuring it adheres to Apple standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Writing clear, concise, conversational copy that guides a customer through a shopping experience and inspires them to buy Apple products.
  • Filtering and responding to cross-functional feedback, taking a leading position on where to adjust and where to push back.
  • Confidently presenting work and articulating ideas to a group of creative leads, senior executives, and business partners.
  • Collaborating with creative leads and cross-functional partners to refine (and refine and refine and refine) copy until it's flawless.
  • Coaching junior writers on the Apple Retail tone of voice and how to write for shopping journeys.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the digital marketing, advertising, in-house creative, or editorial industries.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates writing talent and strategic insight for a range of digital experiences, including web, mobile, and app copy.
  • Proven track record of crafting clear, conversational UX writing for end-to-end shopping journeys across digital platforms and products.
  • Having a clear understanding of copy deck management and copy review processes (including legal and editing reviews and handoff protocol).
  • Experience building trust with multi-disciplinary partners and collaborating well within a team environment.
  • Track record of thriving in a challenging, fast-paced, creative workplace while delivering quality work at scale and on time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strategic and critical thinking skills and can cut through ambiguity to find the right path forward despite uncertainty.
  • Possesses an insatiable love for writing, with the utmost attention to detail and a keen awareness of the digital landscape and trends.
  • Enthusiasm for learning the architecture of an experience or the mechanics of a system.
  • The ability to absorb and digest a detailed business document and map it to the overall goal of a project.
  • Strong communicator with exceptional presentation and diplomatic skills. Able to actively engage in healthy debate with stakeholders.
  • Diligent, flexible, resourceful, and independent with a strong work ethic and organizational skills.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $182,600 and $274,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
